Default Programmable ECM for 1999 Volvo Penta

Just trying to figure out what my options are. Did some head work to this 8.2 and the ECM wont allow it run as good as it should. I know Holley has some ECMs available for this 8.2 but they require a O2 sensor (Dry). Pretty sure I don't have a O2, but I hate to believe i am stuck using Volvo locked down ECM.

Well, we can reflash your ECM but the new Holley ECM has the ability to run your engine with or without the o2 sensor. What are you motor specs? Any more info?

Our piggyback fuel controller, the CMD Marine, may be another option for you. Does your engine use the EV1 fuel injector connectors? Do they look like this?

If so, then the standard Chevy spread port wiring harness should fit your application. The unit reads the MAP sensor voltage and provides a fuel map that is MAP vs. RPM. You (or your tuner) can then add or subtract fuel anywhere in the fuel curve as necessary. If you need throttle position specific control, or features like accelerator pump, you can attach the throttle position wire to your TPS signal for those features. The addition of our Wideband2 oxygen sensor kit would then enable you to monitor air/fuel ratio through the Windows based Control Center software that comes with the unit. You would then also be able to enable the "AutoTune" feature, where you simply specify a target air/fuel ratio and while you drive, the CMD Marine unit will automatically trim the fuel delivery to your targeted values.

So you can re-flash the oem ecm? I was told by a local guy that it was possible but only a short term fix. I will get those specs and get back with you. We only run here in utah at Flaming Gorge 6300' and Lake Powell. I'm glad to hear that there are options. Thanks

Yes, take a pic of the ECM with the numbers on it, if no numbers just the unit itself. Send it to boostpower@aol.com thanks
