Cant go wrong with alpine or pioneer decks. lots of good speakers just go with a reputable company. i have mb quarts in my boat and they are sweet.

X2 on Alpine and Pioneer decks. With a motorcycle I would be concerned about the speaker's efficeincy, the higher the efficeincy the louder they will be.

Make sure all of your current speakers are wired correctly as that will make a huge difference (i.e.: + to +, - to -).

Stereo's that play into the "open air" (motorcycles, convertibles, boats) need lots of power to sound great, not very easy to do in most of them.

You are not going to find much difference with power outputs in stereo's except in how they are rated. Some manufacturer's will determine maximum power output at 10% THD and others will determine it at 3% with the only real difference between the two is how they were rated. Just find a Alpine or Pioneer with the features that you like and call it a day done well on your stereo search.
The speaker's efficeincy will have a bigger effect on how loud the stereo is vs. the stereo's rated power output.
Have you checked your current stereo/speakers to make sure they are all wired in phase? (i.e.: + to+, - to -)

yes i checked the wiring and all is good. it just seems that the speakers disort real bad when they are turned up like they are to small for the stereo power wise.

Memphis makes really good stuff. You might also check out MB Quart I think they have some good 4" speakers that would work for you. There made by Maxxsonics, heres the link.

if you want to spend the money have a shop do a nice alpine, kenwood, or pioneer head unit, and do focal comp speakers amplified, will be the loudest thing on the road
