    Default Travel trailer stereo ideas?

I have a 30' TT with a cheapo 2 speaker stereo. I'm looking to upgrade, but want to get an idea of what some people have done. I'm not looking to drop a grip of dough on high end stuff, just something that sounds good(I know that's relative). I was thinking of replacing the the head unit with a ipod/sattelite unit, replace the stock 6.5" inside speakers, 6x9's in enclosures(already have the enclosures) outside, 12" sub(already have) in a box outside and a 5 channel amp(already have).

Sounds like your on the right track...

I personally just installed a better headunit and speakers. I think the Amp and sub are kind of a waste in a trailer and will do more harm then good in the battery department.

My 05 weekend warrior dosen't have outside speakers so I was gonna put another HU in my front storage cubby(the remote would work from the fire) and wire it seperatley to one battery. I then was just gonna throw some 6x9's 9in boxes and un wind some wire when we are camping.(seemed easier than trying to get wire to the outside of the rig)

I ended up turning my Rhino into a rolling stereo instead...lol

    That's an expensive boom box.
I agree that adding the sub w/amp may cause battery issues, we dry camp alot. But, if I used your idea of running the stereo off a seperate battery and put the head unit/amp and extra battery in the front pass through....bam...disco in the desert. Or, just add a head unit and 6x9's and call it a day. Damn, now I'm starting to confuse myself.

    I only did a 600W amp 2 6x9's 2 6.5's and a 10" sub...lol

I like the seperate stereo with remote idea so I can turn the volume up and down without going inside. I was gonna just build a mdf mount box that would screw up to the floor of the trailer so it looked good and I could hide the wires.

I'd highly recommend this head-unit: Sony Explod CDX-GT930UI

I just installed it in my 23' Renegade and love the thing! The best part about it is that you can access all your playlists through the head-unit! I got it shipped to me next day for $200, great value for money!!!

I also just installed the HD Radio receiver as well which is unreal! It's a great set-up and all for well under $300. You can't go wrong with the Sony Explod series.

    Good luck!

Without a doubt this is the BEST stereo I've ever had. It is self amplified and will run on a 200w inverter so your batteries will last forever.

    300w to the 15" sub
    150w to the horn tweeter.

This thing is obnoxiously LOUD. I got mine for about 500$ but there are other models that sell for less and sound very good. (Tapco thump and JBL 1500) I just plug the ipod in it's ready.
    we use it at home
    friends baby shower
    parties
    desert
    tailgating
