Default Cutting holes in glass for speakers

I'm adding a couple speakers to the boat. What is the best way to cut the holes so there is no chipping? Thanks!!

Like to use a holesaw run in reverse to start.

Default It works better when she is wet first!

If it was me I would mask the planned hole with some really sticky masking tape (not the blue stuff), make the center hole with a drill bit the same size or just a little smaller, Then wet the area with water and then run your hole saw in reverse to start as Naudio said. The water will keep the gelcoat cool for those first couple turns and the masking tape will keep it from chipping outside the circle.
Life is all about ass, you're either covering it, hauling it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, or behaving like one.

Its pretty much impossible to completely keep it from chipping a little but when it does, its usually within an 1/8" max of the line you are cutting. The speaker will cover the line by 3/4".

Like Naudio said, holesaw in reverse for the first few turns. Then forward.

Mask the area, hole saw in reverse till you go through the color then proceed.
