    Default Ipod jack

The wife would like an Ipod jack in her 2004 Chevy Duramax to plug in an ipod or iphone. I'm just looking for something simple. It is the stock head unit, can they just wire a jack in or is it more involved. Again, trying to keep it simple. Thanks, Cale.

You need a Peripheral brand PXDPGMT Ipod Interface module and then a vehicle specific harness. PXHGMTX if it has factory XM or the PXHGMT if it does not have factory XM.

Does it have a cassette deck? My '05 has a cassette deck and I just bought one of these adapters that goes in there and plugs into the Ipod. Not as fancy but it works fine.

I've got one of those in my p/u also. Kinda funny, but works fine.

You can install the aux input deal through the radios antenna. They put a jack in the center console (or wherever else convenient) with an on/off switch. Works great. Most stereo shops will do it for around a bill.

that will just convert the ipod to an fm signal. With a true ipod interface it will be digital signal, it will charge the ipod/iphone, and all controls will be done through the factory head unit. Plus on most radios, it will show the artist/song name/playlist, etc. Its twice the price of an aux input but 10x better.

Looks like this may be the way to go. No cassette deck to use that adapter but I already know that isn't the way she wants to go I'll call a stereo shop tommmorrow. Thanks and any more input is welcome.

Yea the FM thing sucks but works for some people. I always go the complete aftermarket way.
