Default tv audio out to car stereo input?

My toyhauler came with a junky boom box. They had the tv audio out going to the audio in on the back of the boom box.
Question: I'm replacing the boom box with a 12v Sony car stereo so I don't have to have the generator going to listen to tunes. Can I plug the audio out RCA cables from the 110 TV into the "Bus in" RCA jacks on the Sony 12v car stereo?

    Yes.

You may have some "hum" or other type of audio feedback though because of the 2 different voltage supplies not sharing the same ground path.

    Great. Thanks.

I thought I'd seen those prebuilt bbq islands come with a regular flat tv and a car stereo setup. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to fry my new stereo!
