Default Where did you ground your amp?

Just wondering where you guys are grounding your amps? Also I have 2 batteries are you guys wiring your amps to one battery and use that battery all the time while running or parked and just using the other battery to start the boat? Haven't had a boat yet running 2 batteries. Thanks guys.

yes run all the audio to 1 battery and have them seperated by a perko or some other type of switch. Ground goes back to the battery

Ok just wanted to make sure to ground it back to the battery and I do have a perko switch to toggle between the two batteries. Thanks a million.

Default Ground to battery not power

Power for sound system (including source unit ie stereo)Should be wired to common on perco.Your perco is your battery isolator. Also even if you do have one large battery you intend for stereo say ran to number one post on perco and a smaller battery to start boat "when needed"wired to number two post on perco.I would recomend using number one battery to start boat also, unless you have drained it enough that it wont start the boat. Then and only then you would use the 2nd battery.Lots of people get it stuck in there heads that they shouldnt use the stereo battery to start the boat.Common practice but not recomended at least by me.Is to put boat in water start with number two battery drive it to channel lets say.Switch over to number one listen to stereo for hour or more. Then switch back to number two run to say sandbar or Pirates. Then switch back to numer on listen to stereo more.on a battery that now has not been recharged.Leave perco on one ALL the time so you can put back at least some charge.Think of number two as an emergency back up battery. Also if wired this way and you kill battery number one then you use number two to start boat to get back your riding back with tunes.Sorry so long

Just make sure your ground is at least same size wire as your power wire. Also good idea to use deep cycle batteries for stereo. Others can not handle being drained and charged constantly.
