Stupid question by a jet-boating newbie...

I have an 91 commander with a 454 and a Berkeley Jet. It is not a split-bowl, but it has a
place diverter. Now, here's the stupid question...can I convert to a split bowl? How in depth...entire pump, shoe,housing? For the most part, I am really looking to add a droop snoot, but all the good stuff seems split bowl only. I figured there's no place better to ask than here, so any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
