Seems like a good deal and I am in the market for a boat like this. The hours are what concerns me a bit. How long does the 496HO live? I usually only put about 30-50 hrs/yr.
If serviced annually, as ours has been, they can last a long time! We have the service records available so you can see everything that's been done to it. Our boat is 10 years old so at 350 hours, that's 35 hours a year.
There's a thread on another forum where someone asked the same question. I'll see if I can find it and I'll send you the link.

If it was properly maintained, and im sure it was because its very clean. Its hard to say how many hours they will last for. Im sure they will go past a 1000 hours. However most recreational boat owners dont keep boats long enough to really see how long the boat will last. From my readings a 496 can live A LOT longer than 350 hours. there is a lot of debate about how many hours theyll go. I work on a 31 offshore boat daily. It has 3 merc verado 250s. they all have over 4,800 hours. they are serviced ever 25 hours and run nonstop for more than 12 hours at a time (just to show you that it depends on use and maintenence). I also run a boat with two honda 225 outboards. one of them have over 8,000 hours. we have blown the lower end multiple times and had to replace fuel pumps, alternators etc. but both the top end and bottom end internals are original. good luck with your search for the right boat. and islander good luck with the sale
