Buck Smith Flatty V-drive $1,000.00

1967 Buck Smith Flatbottom 18' Hallcraft v-drive, new Telex cable steering, 3 blade prop, 402 BBC 11:1 compression (needs piston and sleeve) on mounts in boat, boat just primed and ready for paint, , I have flywheel, all the drive line and cover, alternator installed,. The hull is not all hacked up and cracked up, even the deck hull joint is solid. Nobody has taken a hole saw to the dash, one voltmeter. Dual 15 gallon saddle tanks. Cav plates and handle. All glass boat. Trailer (dual axle) has new tires. This is a project I don't have time to finish as business calls. Not far from a real nice boat in short order. Just add your short block or fix this one. First grand takes it. Will deliver to Needles this weekend.
What a quandry! Yesterday I decided nobody wanted this boat so I emptied it, stripped the insides, got it ready for paint and took inventory of what was really there. Its wired with switches, it has auto tank switching, it has cav plates with handle, throttle with cable, it has a hall craft v-drive, it has alternator wired and mounted, it has drive shaft and tube, it has motor plates that mount in the boat, it has a 402 BBC needing some work, it has nice steering, it has a v-drive tach thats connected, it has a bilge pump, the trailer is great with new tires and I have clear title for both. So why is this not worth a grand? Before I go to Needles today I am putting the red on where its gray primed, I'll put the white on Sunday or Monday also painting the inside of the boat and then next week I will clear it. Then I am sticking a decent BBC in it I found. Should be a running flattie in two weeks. Then I'm sure I can sell it for a grand. Unreal! I will want $7,000 when I'm done by the way. Unless I put the shorty glide with top mount starter custom fit in it. Then I want $8,500.00 Mouzer is right, what were people thinking this was damn near a runner with two weeks work. Well I put the red on it this morning. Now I'm headed to Needles. The red went on so well I'm 99% sure I'm just gonna keep ole Buck. See ya'll there.:partyguy:

I will grease the bearing buddies and it has great tires. I towed it from L.A. without any problem, tows like glass.

I was!

But as I said, I don't want to put them together. I want them in one piece. Don't have time to assemble them. I'm moving in couple weeks to Havasu from Parker and don't want to move all the parts I have. Including a partially build flatbottom. Seems I'm more interested in a museum than others.

No Kidding!

i see $1000 in ram and carbs and scoop, headers, water pump ,time cover, motor plates....alone...why is nobody grabbing this....

I wondered the same thing Mouzer. But after a few calls I realized nobody wants to buy anything really, they want to steal it. If it's not a dime on the dollar its not a good deal I guess. So I sold the Tunnel Ram, Scoop, Headers and water pump. You're right it was a free flatbottom going with a thousand dollars worth of parts. The trailer has $400.00 in new tires on it. I have clear title to both. Go Figure!:hmmm:
