Southern Georgian Bay here!
are there many hot boats in the "cottage country" area? We would make the trip down to hang out..And how do they feel about zoomies?...with mufflers.LOL

Well, the average cottager might not like the racket
The OPP have gotten a little more serious about the "muffler law" in the past couple years in the Muskokas. I run a blown 509 with a set of corsa cans in my cat. Still loud but "legal" as the law is written. I think my saving grace is the fact that my tail pipes are under water at idle speed so its fairly quiet in marinas, no wake zones etc.
What exactly do you mean by "hot boats"?
PS, Big Chief island on lake Couchiching ( where we cottage ) by Orillia is a great boat party place on summer weekends. Often several hundred boats hanging out from PWC s to offshores to big azz cruisers. Long weekends are always a huge party with live bands etc.
Where do you boat and what do you boat in ?
My summer home is in Iron Bridge,We live in the U.S. during winter months. We will boat any lake that we can get into..You can find us on all the boards under Canoe Jockey. We have two boats..both Sanger V-drives a, hydro and a mini crusier. You can find the hydro build here at PB under the michigan hot boat tab. Here is a pic of the mini.

Well, I think the mini cruiser would be better suited to Lake Couchiching and Simcoe or any of the big three Muskoka lakes. The hydro would be suicude on a windy daybut would be a blast I bet in evening when the wind dies off and we get flat water.
Well here are some of the hot boat videos from Michigan....everybody with boating interest are welcome..most of these events are less than a three hour tow from the Soo.

Always remember to bring your own beer.....americans don't have beer..they just have beer flavored water..

North of Longford Mills, south of Floral Park. It is called Portage Bay. The bay is just passed the OAC camp. Boats are my race boat, 19ft Temptation flatbottom with 500cid alcohol chevy, and family boat is 17ft deck boat with Yamaha outboard. I dont know where Garnet Island is, but thinking it is down by Fern. Rarely use my race boat on the lake.

Did there used to be a 28 skater in your bay?
Garnet is directly between Big Chief and Fern Resort. 3rd island on the right heading north from Atherly narrows.
We are on the west side of the island. two boat lifts, one with a toon boat and one with a john boat and a big water play island thing anchored out front but my rig is usually on the east side at a neighbours dock where its calm.
Not a real good flatty lake but for an hour or two a day, maybe, sometimes huh ?![]()

Yep, right beside us. Bob sold it a few years ago and bought a Sea Ray (I think) for his kids and grand kids. We have had flats in the family since about '82, but since I started racing I only ever tested on Couch once or twice a year. Usually go up and put the boat in in Washago, run down to our bay and then back up to Washago. Not nearly as busy as the Port.
