Hi all!!!

Thought this would be the place to ask about places to hit up on the Delta. We're staying at Windmill Cove this weekend. Im sure we'll make a trip up to Tower Park and Wimpy's but from Windmill whats some other places to hit up for a drink/food? I know about Garlic Bros. What about port of Stockton? We might be heading down to Orrwood to hook up with some friends, anywere good down that direction? Thanks for the info. :D

union point for food, and drinks, but watch out for the roll bar boats;)
river boat for restarant style food and drinks or just drinks at the bar, outrigger for drinks. We also found a small place but good burgers at whiskey slew. these are a few in the area you are staying.:)

No worries on the roll bar boat thing, thats what we have :D

Riverboat look cool and easy to get to, we'll have to check it out.

How far of a ride is it from Windmill to Discovery Bay? Is it pretty easy to get to? Thanks.

Byron, it's about 18 miles I do believe. Timewise, there's a pretty long no wake zone through Turner Cut/Tiki Lagun, then it's pretty much open the whole way from there. About 25-30 minute run I do believe.

Make sure when you turn off the main channel to go that direction that you turn left at channel marker 24 so that you won't have to go through the Lost Isle no wake zone.

If you plan on going to Riverboat and you take the main channel all the way up to it, you'll notice that after channel marker 1, right around Prisoner's Point you'll see the channel marker numbers reset to "57" and "58". Keep going straight up the channel, and you'll make a right at channel marker "49". That will take you to Pirate's Liar, Riverboat, Lighthouse, etc etc. They're all grouped up right there next to each other on the left at the entrance to the "Moke" (Moukeloumne River".

Have fun and be safe out there.

Anytime Byron. Here is a "light list" of sorts for ya -

Red markers are even numbers
Green markers are odd numbers

When the red markers are to your left and the green markers are to your right, you're heading northwest away from Stockton

When the green markers are to your left and the red markers are to your right, you're heading southeast towards Stockton

Heading out of Windmill Cove and going northwest -

Channel marker 33 is Ski Beach and Fourteen Mile Slough, which will take you to Garlic Brothers. To get to Garlic Brothers, you follow the levee on your left. When you get to the end of that, you go right and follow that around to Garlic Brothers

Channel marker 24 - Turner Cut (back side of Lost Isle). This is where you turn to go towards Tiki Lagun and also the start of the route to Disco Bay/Orwood

Channel Marker 11 - Little Connection Slough. Turning here and going straight up will take you to Herman & Helens and Tower Park

Channel Marker 49 - Moukeloumne River (The "Moke"). Turning here will take you right to Pirate's Lair, Willow Berm, Riverboat, Lighthouse. A little further up is B&W, but your rollbar may not clear the Highway 12 bridge at high tide (8' vertical clearance at high water tide, 11' at low water tide)

Passing B&W and staying with the levee on your right will also take you to Tower Park

Passing B&W and continuing with the levee on your left will take you to Guisti's

Channel marker 34 - Heading back towards Stockton, Windmill Cove is just past marker 34. It's exactly halfway between marker 34 and 36.

Hope this helps. I PMed you my number in case you have any more questions.

Byron, thanks to Don (Hullshot) I just caught a typo in my original "light list" post. I've just corrected it so if you've printed it out you may wanna reprint it before you head out.

OK something went haywire here...

That wasn't a reference to Terry's wife at all and I apologize if that was taken as such. It was meant to be interpreted as her telling Terry that someday HE will be able to keep up.

Again I do apologize if things were taken the wrong way. I've reworded the post to convey the same joke without referencing people who are special to him.

Anytime Byron. Sorry the thread got a bit hijacked and outta hand this morning lol. :D Shit talkin' is what we do best around here.

Would be nice to see you and your family along for a DLB run one of these days. Hang out, post up, and keep updated for when we post up a run.

OH one more question. I know about ski beach accross from Windmill but isnt there one in Discovery Bay also?

Not exactly. It's on the east end of Twin Sloughs (kind of our own little slang term for it...on the map it's actually called Woodward Canal) which is not far from Disco Bay.

Coming from Windmill Cove turn left at marker 24 to go towards Tiki Lagun. After you cross under the bridge past Tiki, you turn right onto Empire Cut.

Once on Empire Cut, follow the levee to your left. At the end of Empire Cut, the levee on your left will make a left turn. Follow it. This will put you on Middle River.

You'll cross under the Bacon Island Swing Bridge. Keep following the levee on your left until you see the entrance to Bullfrog Marina's No Wake Zone. As soon as you see that, turn right, then back left to cross under the railroad bridge. Once you cross under the bridge, follow the levee on your right.

When you reach the next place you can turn right, turn right and that Ski Beach is right on the corner of Middle River and Woodward Canal I believe.
