No Poker Poker run this weekend

This is the boat that was in the accident. Taken when they were launching it. Nice boat! I dont know the details of the event as it occurred about 1 or 2 minutes before we got there, but I cannot believe that anyone in our group would have been doing 70+mph through that area by Miller Park with the water as rough as it was. I think the speeds were more in the neighborhood of possibly 50. There was also some mention of a possible mechanical failure of the steering system? Hasnt been confirmed by anyone yet. As with the others my prayers go out to everyone on the boat and hope they recover 100%

This is true. We were right behind them and we were doing about 50-55 m.p.h.

This has to be a before shot of the boat...... does anyone have an after pic. How much damage was done to the boat?

This is Brian's wife, I know many of you have been concerned over the victims of the boating accident that occurred over the Labor Day weekend. I have been in contact with Larry and he is doing well (he suffered the least amount of injuries). As of last Thursday the driver of the boat (Dean) and his daughter were transferred to Kaiser, which is good because it means they were medically stable. Rachel however had surgery last Wednesday and had a piece of her skull removed because of brain swelling. The good news is she sat up with nursing yesterday and is answering questions with 2-3 word responses. They all need your continued prayers and thoughts, especially Rachel as she will be facing a long rehab and recovery process.

Myself, Sheri and her Daughter Ashley were so upset yesterday when we learned from our group at Folsom Lake yesterday the extent of the injuries suffered by Dean, Crystal, Rachel and Larry.
We did not know them personally but we were about the sixth or 7th boat on our way to Scott's when we came around the corner and I saw 4 heads in the water and boats slowing down, we came to idle and heard screams for help, we were close to Dean and Rachel, I backed in and jumped in the water and got them both to the low platform on my boat. Ashley was calling 911 and Sheri was helping support Rachel while I was holding Dean.
Visibly Dean was the worst, complaining of right side pain and he had a broken nose, what got us most was Rachel's injuries, she was coherent and able to somewhat function helping Sheri get her on the boat, on a lighter note which we all need, is that when ejected from the boat, Rachel's bottoms came off and she was very concerned about getting on board, I found them close by and Sheri got her set and on board.
I remained in the water with Dean holding on the platform until Greg who is also a EMT jumped in to help support Dean, I seemed we were in the water for at least 15-20 minutes. The Sheriff's boat arrived and we transferred Dean to a board in the water and then they put him on board.
Rachel put on a life jacket, hugged and thanked Sheri for picking them up and was helped on to the Sheriff's boat, I guess it was the Miller Park ramp they took them to. Myself and another gave statements to the Sheriff at Scott's.

It is good to hear Larry is doing better. Please keep posting updates on Dean, Crystal and Rachel's recovery. They are in our hearts, Jeff Willson
