Header evac

Is there a way to set up a header evac without welding bugs in the collectors? My headers have been recently coated and really don't want to go welding on them. So I was thinking maybe somehow to use a pipe nipple and a nut inside the collector? Any thoughts?

Rig up a old air injection pump. Or as most around here call them a Smog Pump.

you might think about running the hoses from your valve covers to a puke tank at the back of the motor instead of to evac bungs!!!! ...much easier & no drilling the headers!...just sayin' my .02 cents

the puke tank is the way to go ...forget the evac bungs...its just gonna push the excess oil out the headers into the water! ...i had a similair problem on my B/FD (sm blk) turning 9k...it would fill the puke tank (1 qt) 1/2 full on every pass...the crank spins so fast at high rpm's that the oil climbs the side of the pan & goes out the breathers or hoses...i solved the problem by makeing a plate (1/8" alum) the length & width of the pan so the oil wouldnt get passed the spinning crank as much & up to the breathers/hoses..solved the problem ...Chevy makes a windage tray & also crank scrapers to solve the problem of oil climbing...just my .02 cents

Hey Bro, my engine builder has all kinds of info regarding header evacs and how to pull max vacuum. He has dyno info that actually gains HP, dude is genius. He builds some of the baddest ass carbs out there and definitely has mastered the Engine. BTW he built the motor for one of the 2 fastest full interior late model Dodge (hemi) Chargers in the country...9.90 1/4 mile. Im pretty sure they can weld up some SS nipples on your headers and make em look good. let me know if you want his contact info...
