    OK, bearings checked and clearances set, rings gapped, everything final cleaned, ready to assemble:

    Piston/rod assemblies get racked for installation:

    Fast forward through this part; rotating assembly installed. New ARP hardware replaced the original Dart main bolts.
    Kind of a shame to have to cover up all these purdy parts;

    Little black paint on the block, front cover install, oil pan goes on, bottom end sealed up, and you pray at this point you haven't forgotten something.

    Other than going completely exotic, this is about as nice as it gets for a BBChev bottom end.

    Brother Ed brought that...said he didn't trust my Harbor Freight engine stands to hold up his expensive, very heavy engine. Personally I'm not sure what all the fuss was over, but hey....

    If thats the case, I would have had my Snap On catalog out, open to the appropriate page and hinted that your torque wrench is kind of iffy too.

    Torque wrench? What's a torque wrench?
    LOL...I think the Snap On man collected more of my hard earned income over the years than any one other single entity, except the government.

    It is well worth the money..First time I ever used one was when I was wrenching the A-Fuel car...Owner bought one...Let just say it was the best investment you can do with engine stands..this stand WILL support a Blown BBC...No problem...BTW just left Scotts house to drop off some goodies I picked up at Teague today.... Can't wait till saturday so I can go over and finally get to wrench on my motor.....(oops, I mean wipe my finger prints off)

    Ed, if you ever need another engine assembled please let me know. I have NO tools, so you need to drop off an engine stand, all the measuring tools, and a fully loaded Snap On double roll away FULL! And then I can handle it for you.

    PS, you need to take all of Scott's crayola and Sharpies and paint pens away when he assembles anything. I can see the Sharpie lines on the rod bolts. I know when you get to be Scott's age you forget what you have torqued, but its tacky. I did notice that he has them all going the same direction and about the same angle. The man has mental issues.

    Bob. hopefully next time I get to assembly my motor, I'll remember what happen today......Scott told me something today that made me stop..I'm was so use to wrenching between rounds that I was wanting to get all the new parts on the motor...I was like a kid in the candy store..I wanted to get it done.. "Ed, slow down...your not wrenching between rounds right now"...so now I get to spend all saturday putting the finishing touches (less Blower and fuel system) on the motor.. but that's under Scotts STRICT supervision... I'll be lucky to put my CMI's on....

    I'm sure Scott is working on the posting the rest of this build...He's got more pics to lurk thru....
