engine breather question

Can I put breathers on both valve covers or do I need a PCV valve setup on my bbf.

no oil spewing here. if you have oil spewing out of your breathers you have bigger problems than baffles...

mmmnot so sure about fords, per se,

- but I can say I've been running speedway (dual breather) valve covers for some time now because I was weeping out of a single breather, and going to twins fixed it.

It started when I wrung out the setup a bit more from flat tappett to a hot hydraulic and did a bit of porting work. Seems to create more crankcase pressure and one hole per cover had a weep- the Duals work perfect neither arent even moist. Dont need a spew tank.

There is nothing remotely wrong with my mill.

I think the location of the breather on the VC could be part of the problem also. On a BBC with a normal valve train layout the pushrods are aiming oil at the area where the breather is positioned, even with an engine that has very little blowby I can see where this would add to the seepage problem. On my 565 when it came time to mount the breathers I located them on the vertical surface of the VC near the intake manifold and out of the area where oil is being directed to spray in the area of the breather. Four years and 50+ hours and not a hint of mist let alone a mess.

sounds like i need to get me one of those to make sure my breathers are working properly.
