just one of those things that caught my eye, should the push rods be longer, rockers clear the guides when down, they sit on the valve stem good, they just seem low, like the push rods are too short. I put a push rod length tool in it, didnt seem much difference.

Look up valve train geometry. It will show you what correct length will look like.

They look short. If you're using the location of the roller tip on the valve as your "measuring stick" I can just about guarantee they're too short.

thanks guys, just LOOKING at it after i set lash, they have decent contact on the valve, but I am not expert, I bought new rockers for it (not in pic), put them on #1 and still questionable on it, i beat these rockers up a little last year, so i upgraded a little, and cant afford to let a $200 set of pushrods hurt this bullet.

Darn, Steel...now ya got me second guessing my work
Made my own adjustable pushrod tool

I used a combo square as you did in your posted pics few years back to come-up with the below.

RELAX. Stock heads with stock length valves tend to have the wear pattern fall pretty close to the center of the valve stem. As the valve get longer, the rocker has to set higher on the stud. The valve and stud are angled towards each other. As the valve gets longer and the rocker gets higher on the stud the pattern moves outward. It simply can't be avoided without moving the stud or valve.

What do you mean by "they have decent contact on the valve"? Again, this is not necessarily a good indication of rocker geometry or the right length pushrods.

That's a nice narrow sweep...good indication that you're well in the ballpark. When the geometry is correct, you'll have the narrowest sweep pattern possible and minimum travel of the roller across the valve tip.

Scheeew I feel a 'little better' (as I think my custom ordered Push Rods were short too!)
Back then I followed your detailed posts as good as I could > the 'eyeballing' of the combo square (90 degree) in relation to the valve stem, the center of the rocker trunnion and center of the valve-end roller had me going cross-eyed several times!
