basic wiring question on kill switches

So im putting the kill switch back in my boat. I Assume i just take one of the wires going to my ignition and just run it thru the kill switch first. but which one? I have three (batt, ing and something else). Which one do i run by that kill switch?


Edit: FYI, my killswitch just has two wired a red and black one with no labels or anything.

The third wire on the ignition switch should be the starter switch. Assuming you don't have a magneto, and do have a normally closed kill switch, it would go inline with the ignition leg, since it would kill power to the ignition system.

Second basic wiring question..

Where did you mount the bus on the back of your boat. And do i need to worry about water shorting any thing out if i mount it too low?

I ask as i am hooking up my ski tow and it goes directly where the bus should be on the back of my motor but it does not matter where i put the bus so im looking for a good location.

Any thougths on where you put your bus in your engine compartment and it shorting out if it gets to wet?

I don't have a bus in my boat, nor do I have a clue what it looks like. Is it yellow? With loud ass screaming kids?

This is from danas web site. I gues you could call it a terminal block as well.. Yellow with screaming kids made me LOL...
