    Default not boat related but......

So I went to one my favorite ol stompin grounds last Sunday, AZUSA canyon. Saw some serious mud and alot of POS trucks with some horrible sounding motors. so, I was inspired to build a decent motor that will make some low end poop. I'm gonna turn some big tires and the truck will be a heavy ass chevy truck. What I'm not sure about is what cylinder head to use on a 488" motor. Id like to build a 488 That will run on pump gas. i'll be using a gm block, probably eagle crank and rods, solid flat tappet and a flat top piston. Looking for 9:1. My cylinder head choices are 990's , merlin oval ports, or a closed chamber oval (although i dont want the compression to be much higher). What say you?

Merlin ovals, but QJ will be here shortly to tell you ALL BBC need 990 heads and a tunnel ram. Period. Even motor homes and school buses.

The only reason I was leaning towards the 990's was the cubic inch. Tunnel ram is pure bling!!!

So were the Boss 9 heads on that jet boat at the enduro! Kind of like Jerry's K boat. You can't polish a turd but you can roll one in glitter
