    Default Electric Fuel Pump Wiring

    Guys

I am installing a new Electric Fuel Pump for my buddy (removing a mechanical from his stock set-up) I have heard in the past that you need to set up a saftey wire in case of an accident and the ignition switch is in the "on" position thus dumping fuel in the bilge even though the motor is not running. If I remember correctly, a wire is tied in to the oil sending so if there is no oil pressure it automatically cuts the power to the fuel pump.

Have you heard of this and what kind of wiring set up is correct?
    Thanks in advance

    Default Oil pressure safety switch

Goes after the power switch before the pump. Available from summit etc. I ran it thru a on-off-momentary on switch so I could overide the psi safety switch to prime the system. Often a relay is used, also, so the draw is not constant thru the toggle switch.
