lifters cam & springs

What is the best solid roller lifters on the market for reliability. I used comp cams solid roller and springs and lifters and one of the lifters went kuput after a season and a half. The motor is a 496 10 1 comp. chevy ported heads 990's. the motor was in a steath jet that saw 6200 rpm's occasionally but most of the driving is in the 3000 to 4500 rpm range. Usually about 40miles a weekend. Talked to comp and they suggested the racer ilite. Anybody have any experience with them.
Cam specs is .731 intake .735 exhaust. 259 to 268 duration @.050 110 centerline, lobe sep is 112. Part no#11-00-9 Springs are 998-16

I have 4 season on my morels. Might be time to get them checked as my spring presures are way down. I run alot of 6200 passes and alot of river cruising as well. I have ran morels in the last 3 engines with good results.

Morels are good but by far the new JESEL OR LSM LIFTERS are the absolute strongest and best, however big $$$
It really also depends on the open spring pressure and required engine Rpm.

Pressure fed Morels or GS's are up to what you need for the camshaft. With a marine application you want a pressure fed oiling lifter to keep the bearings cushioned during low rpm. Springs in the 240# seat range and I would go with something that is made of superclean material.

Crower severe duty with hippo pin oiler option... have several customers with years of service on them, and more than half a dozen years on my own.

Those are what I have in my 565, three seasons, lot's of idling and 3K cruising, plus 7K+ RPM blasts ocassionally, zero problems.

I had a pin oiled crower go south in my 489, comp cam (276/278 .714" 110lsa) 240#seat. I was pretty hard on them lots of 7000+

...thinking about trying the ISKY EZ-ROL in my current build, similar cam, more cubes. Heard good things, specially if you idle...anyone else used em?

Hi Chris. I know you have your own roller lifters you sell. Could I ask what they are? Who makes them?

We've had em all act up over the years that is why we use the JESEL mainly. You may look at the Lunati high rpm ones for your app. They are
A lot less $$

Ya Keyed JESEL's would sure complete a killer valve train...I'm running TD rockers they are the cat's a**, but think it might be outta the budget this time around... Thanks for the info

The lifters I sell are Morel/GS/Isky/Jesel.

Great info. Anybody have phone numbers for Morels or LSM. I will call them for specs and cost. Spring pressure for cam is 260#s

on the seat.
