Ask Congress to Support E85 | Coalition for E85
From what I hear, a 38c per gallon tax wants to be added onto E85. The survey takes literally about 1 minute to do!!
Thank you

Good idea Travis. Letters sent
Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I live in Texas which is a big oil producer and my representatives will go the other way. They receive way to much money from OIL interest and will not support anything that reduces the use of oil.
I did fill out the request and sent it. I know my politicians, and in Texas the oil and gas industry are very supportive financially to them. I wouldn't say Texas has politicians that are corrupt, but money has a way making them see the light.
Thank you everyone for the support and honesty!! Post this anywhere you would like and lets make a huge showing!!
Done,
And thanks for the link

It takes a gallon of diesel to produce a gallon of alcohol !! ...how does that help anything? It will not be cheaper by the time taxes are adjusted in.
With corn going to alcohol production, there is less for food, export, animal production for domestic and export, etc. This drives food costs higher !!
If they can use biomass and garbage fine, but not food crops !!
Alcohol has less energy by volume, absorbs water(corrosion), and cannot be used in older vehicles without expensive modification. Cannot be used in current trains, planes, trucks or busses.
There is a lot of oil available in Canada, if our current POTUS would approve a pipeline to the gulf refineries. Oops, don't wanna lose those green votes, do we ?
Alcohol is political B.S., It cannot be justified economically, or it could/would stand on its own without political/taxpayer support. Alcohol is not the total answer, just a supplement, like solar, wind, hydroelectric, tidal, geothermal, and hampsters in wheels, oops, PETA alert!!
Brazil uses alcohol, but they have wiped out vast areas or the Amazon rain forest and ecosystems to grow sugar cane to produce alky. Not exactly a responsible "green" solution.
What is the answer? Sadly, until we can unlock the future of hydrogen fusion, or other yet unknown or unutilized energy sources, we will be forced to patch together all the practical and resonable supplements. This does not include politically correct but impractical, and poor economic solutions.

So all that horseshit summed up means you ride a bicycle as that is a responsible "green" solution ?
Implying that we know better than Brazil when they are energy self sufficient and we are not is rediculous.
Thanks for all that ethanol scuttlebutt THAT I'VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE.
You didn't mention about Ethanol exhaust as compared to gasoline exhaust though.
