I have a SBC 400 that has the rotating assembly balanced with a flywheel, not a flex plate. The application for the engine is in my Alaska salt water work skiff. I was hoping to use a top mount starter bell housing to keep the starter out of the salty bilge water. Will a top mount work with a flywheel or am I limited to the standard bottom mount position? Teeth on the flywheel are not completely across the width of the wheel, just along the edge closest to the block.
