Carb jetting
i recently picked up some 750 carbs they came off of a 588ci. im assuming thats not gonna work right with my 496 10.5:1 gas motor.Can anyone help me figure out a decent jetting for these carb so i dont spin my wheels/wallet trying to achive my goal..
More info would help. I assume you are running duals?

If they haven't been changed too far from stock, they should not be a problem. You can go on Holleys web site and look up the particular model you have and get all the original specs as far as jets, power valves, squirters, etc.. Good starting point if you are going in blind.

I agree. The carbs may possibly have re jetted for a 588 IF it turned any serious RPM. Thats not a lot of carb for an engine that big to turn very high. They would have a tendency to go rich on the top end. I would look at the original jetting from Holley and start there. Should be preety close for you purposes.
Hopefully they didn't get into air bleeds because your not going to get that info of the Holley site, you need to get that info from a carb that hasn't had the air bleeds changed, or possibly from a good carb shop.

thanks ill try that tearin carbs apart this weekend to find out whats in em and go from there ill post any progress or dilemas...
I agree with GN-7. Go back to a stock setting and keep a close eye on the plugs! I would bet the carbs have been fattened up for the larger motor but a good tear down will answer that. Mark
I would check the power valves, depending on your cam size maybe run 4.5's or 5.5's. X2 on the stock jetting to start.
