Crane was able to dig up the 2007 test. This was done for Offshore boating. I have it in a PDF file. If someone can email me I will send it to you. This would make for a good sticky.
Thanks

Chris,
Are you referring to the hydraulic roller/valvespring test where they went from 150 to 180 to I think like 210psi on the seat on a hydraulic roller cam ?
If so , I think I have that somewhere too. Just let me know if that is what you are referring to and I'll look for it and post it up.
Post the article if you would, I think it may help a few people on springing Hyd cams.
Also thanks again for the lifter help a few years ago. Even tho it wasnt your sale, you helped me out on a Crane setup question I had on springing a hyd roller for a BBC while Crane was in limbo. Im still on the fence with Hyd rollers but I do see they have a big future.
Yeh, that was cool to see a manufacturer actually go thru all the trouble.
Before the test, People where sneaking up higher and higher with the spring psi with HR lifters and doing well / better. It seemed to get to the point something was going to happen (good or bad) and that's when it seemed like Crane jumped in and did their testing.
Anyway, was good to see. I'll try to see if I still have it in my computer and will post it up if I find it.
In the madness of this world, know the Peace of God.
Sure they kept checking the lifters and lobes. What about checking the valve seats. Probably beat to hell and ready to fall out from all that slamming and hammering from that kind of sring pressure.![]()

The problem with Obama jokes is that his worshippers don't think they are funny, and the rest of us don't think they are jokes
Thanks Steel - that's the one.
Pretty impressive tests.
Like to note that this is with Crane Lifters of course since a Crane test.
Would be cool to see other manufacturers do this, but that would be asking a lot.
Crane, of course, supplied(s) many of the Merc HP Motors with valvetrain pieces, so it was in good interest for them to do this, even though they really didn't have to do it.
