jack you will be exactly where you were the last time you raced
92-94 mph in my opinion. don`t worry about the ET
it`s just like a gentlemens race at the river/lake.

there is a plan for a racers/crew party sat nite the 27th
    beer burgers & dogs,
pre registration must be in by 3/20/09 if anyone needs the application i can fax it.

I am going to my check in as well, before the dead line.
if we do not get enough boats, (30 boats min)your check will refunded.
as per the news letter. this is a perfect way for the average hot boater
to get a match race/grudge race in a safe environment w/ insurance.
if you ever race on the lake or river, you are taking a bigger risk of hurting yourself or someone else, that could result in a law suit, it just don`t add up to me, but
that is how i see it.
I can not wrap my head around as to why we do not get the turn out
like we have had in the past.the economy is part of it? or some/most guys are just chickensh!t? this club is not about winning or losing, it is a way to get together with
with friends and you get to play with your hot rod. oh well, you will have this
some see the light, and some can not. just my perspective, i wish i lived closer to KDBA or the WV boys, they seam to have no problem w/ boat count.

What classes do you have? Anything for outboards? And what is your entry fee?

yes they do have outboard classes, last year it was like 90 bucks,
that included 1 yr membership & news letters, they did offer a one day/one race memeber deal as well,
    racer party and free camping.

the OB classes are like the OBDBA classes,
i am assuming cause some of our members ran w/ both
clubs. i have old rule books if want to read up on it.

    Oh yes
    if my memory is correct,
the last 5 or so dvbrc events were stacked up on the BOTE
june event for that calender year for some reason.

this could be the beginning of the end
    if can`t get 30

Jack, go racing. I can't speak for everyone, but nobody has made any pleas to make sure that you go to Anna. I haven't received any text messages, no private mesages, no phone calls, no E-mails...nothing. I really don't know why you continue with the back handed comments to BOTE and it's decision to move away from the circus, but I've asked you time and time again as to why you feel this way, and you have no answer. You can continue to pout about BOTE's decision, but the move by BOTE is one that is based on feelings and circumstances that surround one common demominator.

Rich, as for Sunbury, my comments are based solely on one visit from me and my family. It was nicely shaded, plenty of room, accomodating pits, and nice vendors, but don't chastize me for my recollection, that it was somewhat difficult to find. It may have been my wife's directions that hindered that travel. But things that stuck out, were, limited full view of the track, long wait times between races, and the inability to hang out in your boat and watch any part of the race. That's the spectator's perspective.

The boater/enthusiast view is a little different. I have a lake boat. It's a 6 passenger heavy lake boat. That puts me in the "Gentlemans Race" or that version of it. So, I can pay $100 to join a club and race. I can make a series of passes, and boat for 3 minutes, sit for much longer and hope for the best. I have to add required safety equipment and gear on top of this. I also have to camp (which I love) or get a room, travel to these races and hope my stuff stays together during all of this. So it comes down to COST vs PAYOFF. If I win my class, after pounding the crap out of my mill, I get...? A plastic trophy? A ribbon? I can take that same $100 and get a hell of a lot more boating in at a like or river thats 20-30 minutes away. Like I said, it's a lake boat, not a dragger. I'm not bashing the concept in any way, just voicing what I've heard and felt.

    BOTE/DVBRC

BOTE always sets its date at the first of the year. Any date conflict is purely coincidental, and are not trying to step on anyones toes, and that goes for all of the boating clubs or associations we interact with, and hope you don't think we would ever try to. The first year for BOTE we saw 40-45 boats. A lot of them were racers from the DVBRC. But after that year, we didn't see them again. BOTE is just a bunch of guys with heavy iron playing around on a lake, not racing. One major drawback to the racers was having a small fuel cell and a 25 mile long lake. It has limitations. The second year we had it on Father's Day weekend and lost interest from boaters. Then, after that we had a huge turnout from the WV boys and the toys they brought. Some of them missed out on a race to come to Anna, and may have been worth it to them. I think the economy is going to be a MAJOR factor in what plays out for a lot us this coming summer, and wish everyone the best.

Bash? Are you on crack? Seriously. I wasn't bashing anyone, or anything. I was stating something that has been an issue for SUNBURY. I don't think I was off base as I know Rich read it and said nothing. I know for a fact I'm not the only one that feels that way. Step away from whatever it is that's made you so defensive.

Jack, let me help you out a little further with your complete lack of undertanding. Above (see quote) Rich asked a question. When someone asks a question...it usually garners an answer. It might not be the answer you want, but you'll get one. Are you getting the concept of how this works yet? It's what makes a forum like PerformanceBoats.com work.

So, the area in bold is a question and I gave my input. I'm going into it a little more with questions of my own for Rich. I lived 2 hours away from Sunbury and went the first year I found about it. I didn't find Sunbury to be the greatest place as a spectator, or a racer. The other races were further away, so my interest became dismal. Is the turnout a problem for for the DV, or is it all of the races? Are the WV guys more dedicated, or are the areas they race in more conducive to racing and spectators?
