    How did you make out?

I considered it a 'shake down' so when the engine was cold and didn't really want to run...I wasn't worried...when we traced some water leaks...no biggie...

then the engine really started to even out, things were going well...so we stopped tightened some fittings...and then it wouldn't run again.

So, I got towed back to shore by an outboard with a fisherman taking pics. Dammit.

I think we traced down the problem to a dumping carb and gassed out plugs.

Now...trying to figure out how to fix it.

Sticky float, needle and seats? The tow home could have jarred them lose so you might not find a culprit on the trailer.

its still leaking...just one of the boosters though...wouldn't a needle and seat or float be on both boosters?

Is it leaking internally or externally?

Fuel pressure to high? 6.5 psi is max.

Possibly an incorrect signal to the booster? Check for vacuum leaks anywhere.

I am about a pound over that...I will start with that, the needle and seat, and the float adjustment.

That was my first guess, only because I had a similar situation. My needle was sticking open causing the fuel to pour down the carb. It stalled out the motor. Upon trying to fire it back up, the fuel that made it into the cylinders, also got sent thru the exhaust valves and into the pipes, where they managed to ignite...leaving a pair of flames 4 feet into the air. I got towed back.
