Damn, Rich. At one time thems was MY waters. Lived to ski on them, from Occaquan to Key Bridge, April till December (as i understand you and Riner where there too).

Lots of great memories. I was invited to ski on the 'Santa' team.

Not man (read fool) enough to do it.

now i wish i had done it at least once, while i coulda.

    Great pics!

I ran the President's regatta there many times at Hanes point and between the 12 st and 14 st bridge. Yes it was calm water but at race time was like a Ocean. Many boats flipped and lives lost there, especilly the Gold Cups lost three in one day.

was out there 3 times a week with the kids from '92 on and before that lots of times in various boats. Sometimes ski from the Wilson Bridge to Occoquan in one shot. Lots of good times in the "ski cove" where the National Harbor is now. As a kid i remember the PCR and the bad things that happen there...i think thats why they stopped it.

back in the day (1997 or so)...thats right Rich, Video

    Default Rich,

The first pic looks like, taken from the Va. side just North of of the W.W. Bridge,Is that N.R.L. in the background? Old Town Alexandria to your back? The second and third look like taken from the N. side of the Airport. I learned a lot in those waters in the late 80s myself. We all all probably saw each other at one time or another over the years. Sunday was really nice here.
