Default Need help with cam selection!

Well guy's I have finally got the the money together to finish my boat project! Thanks to the IRS. Gotta love the tax returns. Just ordered a master rebuild kit with a B impeller, Ride plate kit, and a manual trim lever. I also have secured Set of high performance heads, Performer RPM intake, MSD ignition system. I am know looking for a cam and am open for suggestions. I am still debating on exhaust not against headers but would like thru-hull headers. I would like to get the most performance possible but also don't want to blow the engine. Tom at jet boat perf. Said that if I am going with thru-hull That I should stay below 235 @ 50 and suggested the comp extreme marine cam. He said if I go higher than that I run the risk of sucking water in the exhaust valve. At least that is what I got from it. Do I have to go with a marine cam?

I would call Comp. and tell them what you have. They will put you on the right track.

They are steel heads. Angle plug. 200cc intake runner 64cc chamber 2.02/1.60 valves. I don't know what the compression is. Engine has stock bottom end. I have decided on using OT headers.
