    Default 79 Sleekcraft

    I just bought a 79 Sleekcraft Kauai and I'm looking for a place to go boating in around Pa., Del.,Md., and maybe NJ. Looking to stay in fresh water, as a kid my parents had a place on the Northeast River right outside of Charlestown, Md. If anybody knows of a good place to go for sunday trips any help it would be great Thanks also looking for interior pieces (seats, rear bench, big block chevy headers) thanks for any help

    Rubberduck, where are you located now?
    I'm in SE PA and frequent the Delaware river all the time. Launch at the Ridley marina (exit 8) just off I-95.
    Jersey (central) kind of sucks for 'fresh water' and good running. I ran the Mullica river a few times >somewhat brackish, not much area before I hit salt>yuck!
    Havre is good, except on the weekends as larger boats make big wakes.
    Get back with more info as I'm looking to find more 'jetters' for the SEPA area to congregate on the Delaware.

    I'm located in upper Mont county (Red Hill) but grew up in Del. county (Aston). My parents had a place on the Northeast river 25 years ago on the point kind of overlooking the sandbar. Basically looking for a place to go for the day (sunday) so the kids can have some fun in the water the drive doesn't really bother me. trying to get the boat ready for this year don't know though see how work holds up along with the budget

    Don't know Red Hill however I'm in Glenolden/Springfield/Ridley Pa area, Del-Co minutes from 95.

    Also, several racers from the DVBRC (Delaware Valley Drag Boat Club)congregate at the Rancocus Creek on Saturdays...on the Jersey side.
    It's easy to get there from the Linden Ave ramp just off Academy Ave exit off 95 in NE Philly. Put in at the ramp, cross the Delaware and a few miles up up the Rancocas Creek.

    When you can, get your boat running, and get in touch...

    like I said looking to get it done needs a big block chevy ( just need a short block) and to get to trailer back together but yeah I will check in from time to time and if anyone has a short block that they want to sell let me know

    Post a pic of your Sleekcraft. Sometimes, they don't stray too far away from an area. We might have seen yours before.

    It was on ebay the last 2 weeks came from Md. (dayton) there are some videos on youtube.com (jet boat drive by, pulling up, take off, by bubu122987) check them out. The "pulling up" video is why I need a new short block.

    For freshwater, try Lake Clarke in Wrightsville PA (between Lancaster PA and York PA off Route 30).
