How about Raystown Lake, never been there, only 3.5 hours away from Md.
Anybody have any info. on lodging? I know they have log cabins,
Soaker & T should be happy.

Hammer told me to say that.

Hammer told me to say that.
Raystown was a blast...however...that would have to happen after Labor Day weekend.
And, if memory serves me, once you book it there's NO refund !
Last time we were there we hit perfect weather...oh so romantic sitting by the fire, moonlit sky roaring fire...taking bets on when Jetmech/Pump Boy would lean too much and simply fall out of his chair.
We were men I tell you, men that shared the little cabin called The Honeysuckle.

And then Rat showed up and took my Jetmech/Pump Boy away to his own cabin called The Blue Oyster-2

But that was fine...as Wet scooped up a crispy looking, burned-up, beaten bad by a BBC Blower Boat MikeT...

And made him show us his oral talents...

Later that night we heard the sound of a sweat young boys voice, and he said...

    Still wanna go?

    Hey Ray,
Two words, Bohemia River, top of the Chesapeake, smooth water (except for some occasional water-skiers and tubers), sandy bottom, nearby ramps and plenty of room to run all out. Kind of shallow back there for my rig, but perfect for you guys. I was there Friday and Saturday last weekend. Haven't been there in almost 10 years, but had a great time. You should seriously consider it.
    Ray

P.S. I believe that you are mistaken on the name of the cabin at Raystown......Wasn't it the Wild Cherry!

How wide and how long for good running, as I personally don't want to tow someplace just to sit > if you get me meaning.

EDIT... only 15 miles long and how much of that is usable area?

From Anna point to the sandbar is 10 miles exact, it's a good run.

I like Raystown, and Anna, but both still a drive. 7 and 8 hours. Too far for just a weekend.

the first three pics were accurate, but you slipped on something in the closet on the last ones, i do believe.

among the things i remember about Raystown was

    1. Meeting and getting picked up by Rat on 270
    2. Shirkeys 100mph runs
    3. Wets motor still running with a broke crankshaft
    4. Getting a hotel room with Rat
    5. "i got to sleep with the lights on"
    6. Corn on the nice campfire
    7. Driving Rats boat
    8. Long, skinny rather crowded lake
    9. Rats boat getting sprayed by some knucklehead
    10. Beating Big Dan to the store and getting the last calizone
    11. Shirkey's truck the same color as rats boat
    12. Gay Pride at the Wild Cherry
    13. Getting dropped off back on 270
