Wickedsanger... Gettin it done with a Small Block!!!!
I was looking forward to tons of racing videos from High Rock? What exactly happen to all the racing at High Rock. Rumor on the street is, those small blocks were tuned up and ready to run for the checkered flag. Do you all GPS off exactly 660 or what? Plus 100 to get everyone on plane like at a drag boat race?
I'd love to come down and watch, but that weekend is our anniversary and the wifey and I are headed to the mountains
'84 Laser LTV - Restoration in progress
'77 Caribbean
I wrenched till 12 and 1 O'Clock in the morning every night leading up to Anna and it still came down to having to order parts on 1 and 2 day shipping. Could not get it finished. I was sorry to hear so many had glitches.
I can assure you of one thing, all the racing should be for fun. I was surprised from talking to the Southern boys and some of the crew from that was there, no one was eager to run. I understand those small blocks left like Rockets! That is cool as hell and now I Know who to call, for a template to set up my Sunkist Jet for the launch.
I believe people come and go to these events with the idea to have a little fun racing. Standing around and talking about is half the fun, the other is testing your metal. I don't have any preconceived notions on how fast the ol' tird is. But I do wanna find out how it stacks up. If the orange and white boat was there, I would have loved to represent the big blocks. Run what you brung, laugh and shake hands afterwards. Compliment your opponent for building a helluva boat. But most of all have fun and RACE, even it is only 500 or 600 feet or whatever, for safety reasons. I have lined up jets skis, tunnel hulls, Cats, V-bottoms, against anyone that likes to run for fun. That is why I have dropped oodles of deniro in the past 20 years. God what a stupid decision when you think about it. I am certainly not interested in running 150 MPH down some narrow lake finger. However I would like to line up against Catch A Cole and find out whose boat launches the hardest. I would really like to line up against 066, because I know his Sh** is BadAss. Not becasue we have a beef. For fun. I don't think not one of those boat there, was built with the intention of just to cruise. If so they would have bought a Bayliner instead.
To quote a Wise Man: Half of them were scared and the other half were glad of It!

Damn John!!Dont hold back now, tell us how you really feel!!! LOL
Leland had water pump problems and ended up watching and drinking beer from the dock.We tried to fix his water pump, but it didnt work. We where gonna race one of the hydros, think it was lelands buddy john....i think. Red white and blue boat. REALLY REALLY nice ride.
But he had a nitrous backfire and bent up the butterflies in the carbs.
I dont know if we could have outrun him or not in 660, but I do believe that we would have shocked alot of people as to how good that black bitch runs!!!!
I think it would have taken every bit of 500' for him to catch us. If he caught us at all!!!
Hell, even Leland said that he didnt think johns boat launched as hard as Wards. Wish there was more racing, but all in all we had a GREAT time there.Wish you could have made it. Maybe next year will be a little different.. Sorry to hear your having so many problems with your ride. Good luck with it!!! Maybe we'll cya soon!!!
gimme a call sometime and we can bench race. Gotta go, goin to finally test out the nitrous on the "wickedsanger"
Later....

Tim I didn't direct that toward or mean that to offend anyone, I know some of the boats were first time out for the year and had problems. I truly love the excitement around a good race and I think people were surprised how well those small blocks ran. I just believe it is a heck of a lot of fun to get together and run boats, bikes, cars, etc. We go 4-wheeler or dirt bike riding, we race all day, we go for king of the hill at every hill climb. We ride motorcycles, we race away from most stop lights. I just think when you get a bunch of hotboats together, people would naturally want to race for fun. Especially after all the talk on the internet 2 mths prior to the summer events. Not at all meant to offend anyone, just was surprised that there isn't a 5 minute video of people racing on the water. If my beach plans didn't conflict with your SDB event I would love to come to it. I am sure there will be some fast hardware there.
You know that i am good to go any time but couldn't fry the new motor. We will be to the river soon. Get the hydro ready and we will do a few burn outs. I thought that Jay was going to run the black jet but the jet left when Jay put in. Don't know what happened with that? That little jet leaves as hard as about any jet that I have seen. The water was bad in front of guzzes house all day. I think that slowed the scarry boats down from running.
John, or to anyone reading these posts, Im NOT offended by anything you've said, or trying to offend anyone. Sometimes its hard to read what someone is saying just by reading their text. It can get taken the wrong way sometimes..Its ALL GOOD!!!!!!!
Made alot of new friends at Guzzs place last week, and would like to keep it that way!!
P.S. Leland, did you get that new water pump on yet???? Better get to it, and quit takin so many naps!!! LOL![]()

Leland, I will stand with you and slug it out with allcomers at the next event, as long as my bucket of bolts stays together. Let's hope Past history does future results for me, it seems like it's always something. We know that ol Cole leaves hard, it's proven itself a few times. 500ft, 660ft, we don't care, bring em on. Honestly I cn't imagine anything leaving harder than 066, if it is tuned like it used to be. For goodness sake that boat is evil.

We tested out the nitrous yesterday morning
Is 99.5 backed up by 99.2 close enough to call it a 100mph small block?![]()
99.5........... Is that in 660 feet?
CLASSIC HOTBOATS!
