    Default e bay

Admin, I feel the spam section needs a couple of guidelines. 1st, anything listed for sale must have a price. 2nd, no linking to ebay. If a forum member wants to give fellow members an oppertunity PRIOR to eaby, fine. There is an issue going on right now about opening bids on ebay...Seller said to bid, then bitched about the amount??........Some people think their junk is priceless, an ebay type mentality that doesn't belong here on this free spam forum......I vote to see any ebay linked sale items be deleted.............MP

I second that.....the "spam" section is like a big cork board at your favorite hamburger joint..should be personal, friendly and partially exclusive to those in the "inner circle".......a link to Ebay should be a paid ad to help fund this killer site. Ebay-schmeebay...I am fed up with low ballers, scam artists and punk-a$$ teens looking for welfare hand-outs instead of legitimate deals......when someone uses this site to promote or sell, it NEEDS to be directed at the boating community of "brothahz & sistahz of the mighty legion of aquagods striving to recoup moments in time that have been stolen from them by THE MAN"

i will agree on this also. if you want to sell it on e-bay then sell it there, but do not allow links from the spam section to e-bay

All they have to do is put a realistic opening bid on the item vs. 99 cents. If someone's unhappy with an opening bid it's their own fault. Price it right and they won't be unhappy.

Rexone (boatpartsman on ebay) has 681 feedback 99.9% rating powerseller so I do speak with ebay experience.

If it's someone's own stuff (not unrelated to boating commercial crap) I don't see a problem with it. Same as the spam rules now state. Also ebay and Paypal offer buyers protections that are not present here buying off the spam forum. And as I recall quite a few got burned on hotboat buying out of the spam forum from shitbag sellers.

OK, Mike, but how about listing it for sale, with a price, with a notation it will go to ebay on a certain date....Then link to it?.............Ray

OK, the final determination on this is the following:

This has not grown to be a big enough issue yet to create a rule about it. While we do have some rules here, we are not huge fans of making them without a real need. In my opinion this is something that the "free markets" action of the boards will handle on it's own. If e-bay stuff does not sell well here then it will go away.

Obviously this is subject to change in the future. If at some point down the road you feel that the problem has either grown or changed in some way again that needs review, please either PM me or post about it here. If you have further questions on the matter, PM me and I will send you a phone number.
