Default Fastest Sportdeck NOT in the USA?

This is quite possible, Although this Project will be constructed entirely in CA, it will reside in British Columbia

    The Latest:
I am working with a very good guy from British Columbia and he just ordered a 2009 Howard Sportdeck with a really cool Whipple 5 liter engine. This customer has quite a bit of experience with high performance boats/cars and he knows exactly what he wants. The boat is going to be mostly Candy Blue/Candy Orange and Silver. The engine is going to be Polished Aluminum/Candy Blue/Polished Stainless Steel. I am working with CP Performance/Hardin Marine on some very cool accessories that will be standard on my motors in 2009. This motor will have all of those accessories. They have already been tested and work flawlessly. The owner has opted for me to have ALL of the hose fittings in the engine compartment done in the same candy blue to match everything else. This boat will be dialed in thoroughly. He will be running the ALL Billet Max Machine Worx Drive(Shocking I know. Believe it or not, I am probably more interested in seeing how fast the boat is than the customer The customer wants a very nice reliable/powerful package that will do everything. I am sure Brad(the owner)will get signed up to Performance Boats and introduce himself at some point. HERE WE GO!!!

    Good day

Hi I am Brad from Canada and this is my second Howard Deck Boat since 2006, but this time it happens to be powered with a TPI 948. Gary recommended that I talk to Tony Douglas who also owns a Howard/ TPI 948, after we talked I made my decision, great guy Tony he was very helpful.

For those that don't know, Tony(DTI Trucks) has the other Howard sportdeck with a TPI 948 in it. I have to admit, when Brad called from wayyyyyyyy up North and told me what he wanted in his second Howard, I thought of Tony immediately. They both asked for the same thing. Apparently, after they spoke, the final decision was made to move forward with the 948/5 liter Whipple efi. The fact is, I don't think Howard claims to have the fastest and definately not the lightest deckboat, but I will say after being in one as a driver and a passenger for about 50 hours........they are very stable, comfortable and quiet. I personally would like to drive one between 115-120 mph and see how it behaves. I have a feeling it won't be long until I find out...........................

BTW, Thanks for making your first post Brad, the forums can be very interesting to say the least, but this thread should be pretty harmless

Hey Demon, You might need to take a ride in one of these things sometime just for the experience,,,,,,,,,I think you would be impressed with the driveability of that big 5 liter.............its a crack up how friendly they are to drive.

Welcome to the boards. You will have my favorite Howard to date when your build is complete. Fantastic looking boat with an awesome power and drive package.

Hopefully you will allow Gary to document the build process here on the boards.

Looks like a great project!!! I love how your motors are always perfectly color matched to the boat......Ever thought of doing the Max Billet drive in a candy blue????

You know what......................I actually have thought of that color matching on the drive/gimbal, but over time, the water really makes it look crappy. You can get away with black and even silver, but colors just wear out in the water/sun.................It sure would look good while it was new though

My buddy bought your old boat, spent the weekend blasting all over the lake. He went thru 120 gallons of fuel in 1 1/2 dyas of boating. Very nice boat, sounds like the new one will be even nicer.
