Default Howard Sportdeck TPI W/305 efi

Here is a new and hopefully fun thread to check out. Howard has laid up another hot 2008 28 Sportdeck. This thing looks fast just sitting there. The owner has opted to run a custom made TPI W305 efi motor. It will be de-tuned to a conservative level UNDER 1000 hp. This particular motor might become part of the TPI engine line up He Also is running the all Billet Max Machine Worx drive with a 1.35GR.
As pics are available, I am sure they will be posted. This boat will be out there running this Summer, so look out

I will do my best, and I am sure "Tony" the owner will add them as he gets them. It's a nice looking boat.

That is going to be an unbelievable package. I can't wait to see how this thing runs. Will it fit under the hatch? or will there be a scoop.

I think its going to fit underneath. Either way, it will not need a scoop, maybe a small notch inside the hatch itself. The boat can definately handle the motor. They are pretty comfortable at any speed. Although the motor will be capable of quite a bit of power, it will be set up as what I would consider a conservative package. It may be a big supercharger, but the motor itself is no different than the 848, so I really am anxious to see how the combination works together with the Sportdeck. It's definately going to be nice, and yes, it should in theory be the fastest Sportdeck to date, if the cold air stay's around when we finally run it as a comparison

    Commentary:

When is this beauty gonna be rigged or completed?

Any time frame as to when your gonna splash this boat---or---- errr water testing?

I am anxious to see this combination run to see what it does!

Update photos would be nice--- any rigging photos of engine install in progress etc... post them up---trust me they are appreciated.

This Sportdeck should be absolutely smokin fast with this combo!

P.S. I view this thread simply to gawk/admire the 5 litre Whipple motors.

    just curious..
i noticed in a pic above that there is a wix filter on one motor and an orange fram or baldwin on the other...
    any preferences on these motors??
what model or p/n is the wix??? just can't read it on the pics

I run both of them. The fram HP6A and the Wix racing 51222R. They are for the same application. I have cut open each one and inspected them, and I never had a problem with either. Some of my Mid-West and East Coast customers request the Wix 51222R because they are carried everywhere over there through Car Quest and Napa. Just like anything else, everyone has their opinion of each, I am sure. But they have both been good to me
