I was wondering if there is a difference in a turbo cam vs. a blower cam profile/grind... or are boosted engine cams about the same?

To give you a straight up answer with out the other "stuff" Yes a different grind would net you a better build! Talk to a real grinder and run it! No offense meant to anybody but if the OP is going turbo and a "button" maybe a grinder can work with him on what will work best for his combo! JMO!

Cool your jets you old fart. The OP PM'd me and I gave him all the info he could possibly need for that deal. He bought the Gentry Turbo deal in the spam section and was looking for some advice. I gave him Carson Brummetts number. Any problems with that advice old man? You want in depth info on a cam selection, I can give you Carson's number as well.

1lb of pressure in the exhaust is a cork in the ass.
A roots cylinder is most likely in a vacuum at max torque when the intake valve opens. A turbo has to over come the cylinder pressure(I.E. the exhaust manifold pressure) before it can introduce a single drop of air and fuel.
However I hear a exhaust gas recycler helps subdue detonation.

I agree, bad turbo lag is bad engineering, unless your trying to squeeze 1000HP from a 181 cu inch Offy at Indy. Then its just the price you pay.
But the very very best turbo never hit max boost in .001 seconds. The driver's foot is what keep a roots from hitting boost faster. I don't care who designed it.

In have talked with some experts, and you don't need a different cam, you need bigger turbos.
I have no clue what this fool was thinking with those heads. What he really needed was 2 more turbos and a knob.

Maybe its time to step up to a set of ProComp CNC'd LS6 heads. I heard they are the shiznit from the pros that drag 1200 hp out of unbreakable HP out of a stone stock(except camshaft) wrecking yard 5.3. With the ProCrap heads you could be looking at 1500-1600 of indestructible HP easy.

Nah decks are too thin but their are alot of guys on ls1tech.com making huge power with em on frged piston/rod 5.3's.ive pushed a stock 5.3 as far as i care to push it in a boat.
