My roomate and I share a computer and now it seems Rexone may ban my roomate, or me, or both from performance boats because we can only afford one computer hence one ip address personally I never heard that before, is that common on these sites now?

Well my roomate read the political reteric board wanted to set up an account to post his point of view and started out with a simple question, wanting to know why everyone is bashing obama and was bashed by just about everyone on the site who does not like Obama (I am not getting into politics here). Anyways I guess he walked into a hornets nest. Now from what I can see Rex may be sypethizing with them and just does not want to hear from the other side, the Obama side. I figure thats the reason, not for sure on that, I guess between that and everyone else e-mailing rex to get rid of my roomate now. Really does not seem fair, I talked him into setting up an account and now this....

The problem with the roommate argument is that, if it were to work, everyone who ever got banned would use the roommate story.

The reality is, people on Internet boating sites tend to be pretty affluent. It seems unlikely there are many roommate situations, although I'm sure there are a few.

I don't know what the infraction was and your description sounds like a smoke screen but it's legit to hold responsibility at the IP address level. There is an argument against IP address banning in the case where a huge public network exists behind that IP address.

On a more real level, if your roommate ordered a bunch of pizzas and didn't pay for them, you'd find yourself having a hard time getting pizza delivered in the future too.

The bottom line here is, if you don't want to get fucked, don't live with a dick.
