I do not have any of the orange boat but here are a few of the ones that use to be there and yes I think it was getting out of hand.

I am still looking for one. I hope they get the support from the community and weekend crews.

Lets hope the city gets behind these people and fight for some common sense.

Actually the City is who started this action, you can thank them for ruining many businesses down there, more to come.

Remember the city tried to annex the land below thompson bay so they could tax and control the venders. That failed

Then they came up with this "rent a ring" thing where you had to purchase a ticket online using PayPal. That failed.

This has always been a BLM jurisdiction issue, the city has no jurisdiction below the 450 elevation. So the city has requested that the BLM remove all vendors from the lake. Instead of the city working with BLM to come up with a solution regarding permitting all businesses on the water will be affected. I'll miss being able to have a good burger on the water.

The city Is not very boater friendly in my opinion.

The city has been putting pressure on the BLM to ban them. You would think they would allow them to exist while they come up with a permit process. The BLM was happy looking the other way until the city started to bitch.

You see the whole thing started because they were there, not breaking the law and the city wasn't making money off them, even though they had city business licenses and were not in their jurisdiction.

The city is the one that forced the vendors out, but their action was initiated by the land based vendors (represented by the LHCMA) that felt the water based businesses had an unfair advantage with the location they had and the lack of fees (rent, etc.) they had to pay. By not paying rent they could offer their product for less.

Thank you for clarifying this matter.
The city did not initiate it, the city was forced to respond to those who were forcing the issue and the city has been attempting to work with the BLM on a sensible solution for almost three years. It was continued public pressure on the city leaders and the lack of action on BLM's part that brought us to the situation we have today.

    yeah lets see...

lhcma ED wants more members to keep himself on payroll, so he gets other vendors/business all wound up and points out that if they support MA, that the MA will put forth an effort to the city... then the MA sits back and watches the displacement take place...

IMO, the lhcma ED is doing things based on his own agenda as I know for a fact that not all of the board does NOT support what he is or has been doing. enough said...

    Default maybe a silly ?

if the orange boat knows they are not supposed to be out there doing business, why are they still there? just a thought, maybe there is no enforcement for a reason... (?).
