    Default Set up question

Hey Greg, i have been messing w/ the hardware on the Miller and have seen some improvment but I just wanted to ask your opinion on my next move. I have a backcut shoe in there right now and the biting edge is even w/ keel, the loader has quite a bit of blocker in it cause I'm trying to get it to lift. I was thinking about shimming the shoe down and putting a loader in with less blocker to see if feeding it more water will help. The boat ran 102mph this weekend but water is still breaking off the side of the boat and the shut down is safe. I know without seeing the boat run its hard to make a hardware choice, I have some video of the boat I will try and post (not to computer savy) Thanks

    Wayne

Can you guys translate into "the rest of us"? What exactly is the blocker? The shoe? The loader?

Its 6-7* if I remember correctly. Jack made it for me last year and it gained 100 rpm and 4 mph, just lost a little out of the hole.

    Default Blocker

Are you running a pressure gauge? If so what is the pressure? As you start to get more aggressive on the set up the come down is going to become more pronounced. Blocked hardware will help on the shut down but my guess is that your still light on water. You can't be that far off if your running 102. Was that on the motor or was that on the bottle. In order for us to see numbers in the teens we had to feed the pump with a lot more water but be careful in how you do it. You need a trained eye to watch the boat run and good feed back from the driver or you can get yourself in trouble real fast at those speeds.

Wayne, there are 2 (maybe 3) races coming up later this season, my advice is bring the boat out and run it down the track, you will make more progress in one weekend at the track then you will all season messing around at the river in my opinion. Lots of knowledgable people there to give feedback, all kinds of hardware to test. Its the best place to dial stuff in.

I have not taken a pressure reading yet, last year it was 30 lbs w/ this loader/shoe combo and alot less power. What is a good pressure # to shoot for ? I need to take a reading next time out. The boat feels like its airing out pretty good, just trying to see what I can do w/ the hardware I have. The 102 mph is all motor, have not sprayed yet. I'm guessing the set up I have now will air out quite a bit more on the bottle. Probably leave it alone until I have some trained eyes watching, don't need to go swimming !

I was planning on the October race. Ya, its a little tuff making changes from a drivers seat view. I have video of most of the passes, just need to get the adapter to download them to the computer.

Look at the thread "Pressure" that I just bumped. Post # 7 has pictures of a "loader" also called an intake grate.

They are sitting up side down on the ground so they mount flipped over in the boat.

Don't have a picture of a shoe, but it mounts to the back end of the pump intake to "catch" or direct the water into the bump.

    Hope that helps.
