Default ride plate on flat keel daytona?

Hey Greg, this flat keel daytona has an 18 1/4" ride plate but it just bareley comes to the end of the cradle. How far past that point should you go and what effect would the longer plate have on it if any? It has a 12jg berk, berk droop, berk intake w/ flat shoe at 1/2" below keel. Also should the leading edge of the loader ramps be above or even with the biting edge of the shoe? Thanks
