I am looking at adding some trim tabs for my 24 foot Ultra Stealth. I am running a stock 496 MAg HO, Bravo 1 X drive with a Bravo 1 26 prop in the low to mid 70's (72/74). For my application I am just trying to get rid of some chine walk and stabilize the ride of the boat at higher speeds. Any information would help.
My questions are as follows:
1) Which type of trim tabs should I look towards, Dana Marine, Eddie Marine or Bennett?
2) Will the Sport type tabs that each of these companies make work?
3) What size?
4) The fourth question is more of an installation question. I have seen some of the trim tabs on boats run with the angle of the vee bottom and some run flat (horizontal) across the back and not with the V of the bottom. What is the difference? Which would work best for my situation?
Talked to John West today and we are both curious why you need trim tabs on a 24 Stealth? All of the 24's I have driven have not had an issue with chine walking. You might want to give me a call at the shop I have a few questions I would like to ask. 951 272 6060
