Nice boat. Welcome to the daytona world. I had horrific luck with my omc, maybe they have different ones mine couldn't hold up to a 302 ferd.

I think mine was a 235 (I think) second trip out It felt like it just went into neutral, then temp started to climb. Aparently the are 2 shafts that connect the upper and lower unit and I snapped one of them and they drive the water pump also. had that repaired at the end of the season. Next time out(next season) about an hour into it it started to howl, made it 1/2 way back to the ramp and same like I'm in neutral deal except it was something else wrong this time, it lost a seal and that caused something else bla bla bla. I bought the boat for 3500.00 used it 4 times and put 2300.00 into the outdrive (repairs). And sold it to my best friend for 1000.00, and told him sorry. You may want to ask around in the outdrive section, maybe my mechanic just sucked. Or maybe you have a better unit than mine. Good luck

I had the same boat but with a Jet. Ran good and it was fun. I really liked it. Then I put some power to it then I really liked it :D :)devil
Don't know anything about OMC. But a screw with the right amount of power should run good.
You should have a good time with it.
Have fun.

Just as an FYI my boat came out of the factory as an i/o then got turned into a full wacker and now it's a jet. If you need any help on the jet part let me know.

Holy smokes, that would be kinda of cool to own your boat through all the stages of motor/drive combos. Going from fast to semi fast to slow:D

LOL too funny :D
my went from whacka (slow) to jet with big motor (fast) ;) ..... don't think the single whacka could have kept up with that squirt gun.
Now twin whackas would have been something to see ...:)bulb
Now if its was and Mercruiser I/O I've seen those haul the mail :)devil
