Diesel with cooking oil boost.

I was filling up my (GM diesel truck)tank last night and a new Mercedes is park beside me. I started fueling up and the owner of the Mercedes comments that diesel is still extremely high. I didn't notice he was driving a turbo diesel sports car.

He then told me to check this out, Mind you he has olny put 10 gals of diesel in his vehicle before hand. He opens his trunk and pulls out 10 gals of used cooking oil. He pours the cooking oil into the fuel tank. I had asked him if the car was converted, he replied "no the conversion is about $1500 and I don't need it, I'm mixing a 50/50 ratio to be safe".

The owner tells me that he has been running his car on the fuel mixture for years and has had no problems at all. He then asks me if I want to go pick up some cooking oil at his shop.

Is this method safe to use with out the conversion?????

i wouldn't do it, i've seen off road diesel jack up injectors in dmax's more times than i can count, and i'm the 1 who had to replace them:mad: been a gm diesel master tech for the last 8yrs, and screwing with the fuel isn't a good idea at 400 bucks an injector. i have no probs with biodiesel, shit runs good, even have a good bud who makes his own and sets refineries up across the nation.

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm newbie whenit comes to diesel. :)sphss If theres costly repairs, I want nothing to do with it. Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated.:)devil

He can't run 100% veggie because he doesn't have a second heated tank for it. You can run 100 veggie in your truck but you need the right stuff. These guys are at or near the top for proven veggie fuel systems;

In fact it's much better than #2 diesel for your engine.

I just traded in my 01 that ran straight veggie for 1 year. The injectors were hammered at a minimum. Life was actually pretty good until the supply of WVO I had stated getting me oil that was super fatty and black, a few hundered gallons of that and my truck started running not so good. Plus the tranny was starting to go south, so I figured time to unload.

P.S. I did save all the WVO stuff, less the second takd if anyone wants to give it a go.

you might want to check this out. its alot easier and works great, so far in my work van i went from 11mpg to 14mph and in my yamaha 5200 watt generator i gained 4 more hours running time. i drove down to the company and met the owners. i was very impressed. :D

However, I was impressed by the testimonials and I might try both the fuel and oil additives. The prices are good and who knows they might actually WORK.
