whats the good stuff to use when removing silicone from gel coat? gotta clean up the transom to re install all the hardware. also have to remove a bunch of silicone from stainless also. any clues would be appreciated thanks

Laquer Thinner (Paint thinner) will work very well. Just put some on a rag and rub the silicone right off. Won't hurt the gelcoat or stainless.

Probably work better too.:D
Plastic rasor blade or sharpened plexi you can locate through the paintshop suppliers
