It's the same hull in both v-drive and out drive. The Vector was used in ski racing as both. I love v-drives they accelerate and turn like nothing else.

From what I have heard, the outdrive version does not turn real well. I have never personally driven one though. I have driven a few v-drives.

i would definately want the vdrive version, but you would think the vdrive would draft deeper. where i go the bottom is hit just a matter of where and how hard.

We run a 10 7/8" prop that is very close to the bottom of the boat. I would say depending on the rudder length, the v-drive has less draft than an outdrive.
If your in that kind of conditions a jet may be the way to go.

i grew up going to the same part of the river, i know the bottom very well. there is a guy out there i met last year with a outdrive vector, he seems to make it ok. this will be my next boat for sure if i can find one.
