Drama Thread 3 River racing rules?

if another (thread) is started and takes a similar track and degree of nastyness it will see the same fate. to repeat good natured bantering is one thing, nastyness, arguing, fighting, laced with profanity with a side of disgust is another. don't bring it here to performanceboats please

It would seem the Red Cup guys just believe in river racing....run what you brung and hope you brung enoung.... Win or lose you have a good time and when it's done you have a beer with your friends or nemesis. The other camp ....let's just call them the Pink Panty camp (for sake of argument) believes in a host of rules including how many carbs you have, nitrous bottle, blower, number of seats, size of your fuel line, how many oil filters you run, does your jet boat have a rudder and what size fuel tank your boat has. The list of rules just seems to get in the way of what river racing is about ........having fun.

Now I happen to be a firm believer in everyone should get "their" race. Meaning, if you go from a dig first and then the other guy wants to go from a roll 25-30 mph then run the race both ways.

So who thinks rules for river racing are for panzies? ( I hope I can use the word panzy and the thread not get closed)


Example:

Tiki. I know what hull you have and who's engine that is(kind of). Do you have the single 4 barrel setup for that engine? Would you consider using it? I'm informed that NOS won't be an issue, correct?

Let us know if you're interested in saying "when".

And has anyone figured out why that engine would "turn blue" if it ran 5 miles up river ?

I'm confused, all this talk about river boats and race boats and who can run who. We have an old daytona, heavy layup, 2 front seats, one rear seat, saddle tanks. pump in stock location, engine all the way back so the back seat fits, bottom by the rocks and logs on river. Flat keel. Mail order pump gas motor with single carb, no nitrous. The boat runs the river all summer long and also races njba and wins. Is it a race boat, family cruiser or river boat?----- I'm so confused -----Jon are going to fix your nitrous this year so you can keep up?

Jet boaters hating on other jet boaters for their 'race' boats pulling double duty at the river? WTH is that about? If your boat can't keep up, then stay on the trailer...but you gotta give the other guy props for building a bada$$ boat that can do that!
At least these 'race' boats aren't sitting on a trailer like some v-drives out there. Besides, I thought a jet boaters beef was with v-drives, not other jet boats.

I think this thread was STILLBORN. Other than to call someone a name under false pretenses, it has no point.

Everyone that has a boat and is inclined to 'race' makes a decision based on THEIR parameters whether to do it or not.

If the other party agrees to those parameters(or RULES if you would), then so be it and the 'race' comes off. If not, there is no 'race'. Apparently, SELF CHOICE is a hard concept for some to comprehend.

My other point. Why would some uninvolved BUFFOON keep harping on the fact that a guy doesn't want to drive his boat 10-20 miles at a clip? The guy spent the money, got the parts, and planned the combination. What business is it of the BUFFOON in question to worry about what the answer to the question is when it's a personal choice made by the guy that IS involved and spent the money??.

That's what is UNREAL. NOW, all that the BUFFOON needs to do is go online, find some obscure information about something, make a chart and a graph about it that shows and proves nothing, and baffle everyone out here with BS. That's how those willing to settle for that can wile away their summer. The rest of us will be relaxing and boating.

This thread and the last one is hilarious almost better than cl rants n raves . Just Gona throw this out there why don't you run pinks style run what you brung no wholes bar 2 outa 3 wins. U loose you pik opponent no nos , rolling start , I'm sure you have all seen the show can get the drift. This deal about picking no tunel rams , no nos is garbage you might as wel dictate what color dadontidonts you should be wearing . Oh and sandbagging is forbidden . Just in case you were wondering .
