Jet boat question
Hey guys i built a apollo jet boat for a buddy of mine with a 12to1 compression 468 it runs real good for a old heavy boat the best we could get out of it was 11.47 but have been noticing the fast jet boats are two stepping the boat out of the hole.what is the point in this i am thinking to keep from cavitating the pump but thats just a guess. we are banging the rev limiter out of the hole at 7200 so are saying the packing in the pump is bad but it runs good. Im just wondering if puting a two step on the boat at like 4000 rpm or so to let the pump load up would help any.
