some people in here are already aware of this. some not. i didn't really want to talk a whole lot about it until it was done. it is now done.
after 16 years in the swtd, it was finally time to move on. when tom peterson was still working in his garage, someone posted a pic of this when it was sitting next to badbug's boat. looked something like this.
some work began on this while tom was still home, but the bulk of it took place at tom's shop, 2583 Kiowa, LHC. although i have a bunch of pics, i'm only posting a few. all the significant components i had in the swtd were cleaned up and transferred over to this 2011 Peterson Placecraft; DNE engine, MPD pump, jetaway, ignition, data, fuel tank, etc. everything else is new.
about 4 or 5 weeks ago...
working with tom and scott kornowski (Kornowski's Kustom Marine, LHC) has been awesome. not only have they done great work, they're awesome to work with and good friends. scott's handiwork in building the mold is reflected in the hull. scott capped the boat, finished the floors, built the seat mold, gelled and finished the seats, gelled and finished the scoop. tom laid up the hull, performed all fabrication and rigging of the boat. yesterday, we spent part of the afternoon testing every component in the boat - it all works better now than it ever did in the swtd.
here are some pics from today...
i've been smilin' a lot today... . the detail you see up close on this thing just can't be captured in pics. tomorrow, we'll shake it down a bit. we'll also show it this weekend at the LHC boat show. i'm jazzed...![]()
