Where is the best place to boat on Lake Mead. I haven't boated here before, but was thinking about going to Echo Bay and try it out, just wondering if anyone had any info. Thanks

It’s been a while since I’ve been, but you might check out Temple Bar. It used to be real quiet and not a lot of ski boats, I’m sure someone will chime in that has been there recently.
I have had my fair share of wind on a big lake before. I got caught on Milford Lake in Kansas in my jet boat when the wind came up,, felt like i was driving like Robby Gordon to get back to the boat launch. I just want to go out and tune in my boat a little since it's only 24 miles from my house to the lake.
X-2
JUST NOT A GOOD IDEA UNLESS YOUR RUNNING IN A COVE OR SO ON....
When I first got the idea back to get another boat-jet-.. my wife said NFW ON THAT WITH THAT KIND OF BOAT..LOL..
she is born/raised in Vegas.. so!!!
heck I rember when I was just s visting Vegas back in the day and rented a jet ski..well letl say that was no fun.....SUCKED..LOL
just my 2cents..
If I remember right, there are not alot of beach areas right outside Echo( on the same side). but right across the lake from it, there is some nice beach area, glory cove (I think is what it was called). I think it's about a 5 min ride cruising to the other side, from Echo to the cove.
Meadview on the southeast side of the lake is pretty cool, some nice beaches. But from Vegas,I think it's about 2-3 hours away.
I think it was around Callville that had some rocky beaches.
Sorry it's not much help, but it's been a long time since I've been there.
i was out there on saturday with my 20' southwind....launched out of calville and hung out at sandy beach for a bit. it was a little breezy, but the chop wasnt too bad at all.
if you want something local and nice, head down to willow beach...its just south of the dam on the AZ side. the water is super cold because it comes out of the bottom of the dam. its a pretty mellow place down there....not a lot of boats at all....big canyon walls....super peaceful....and like 40 minutes from the house. ive been there a handfull of times already this year - i love it down there.

Willow is the place for you. It's a river there & you can take your boat out to a larger basin weather & waves permitting. Meade can be hard core getting back to the ramp even at Echo (Overton Arm) but especially Vigin. Used to go up inside the Grand Canyon years ago with our boats & jet skis hauling gas with us since was so far, but not enough water now (God's country there).
