    Default intake and carb

I just rebuilt my 496 and upped the compression to 10.1. But I kept the same rpm air gap intake and 750 carb. My question is now that the motors done and all piped in I was wondering if I would gain anything by putting a single plane intake and a larger carb

It has a comp cam hydraulic flat tapit 570 lift, Bassett through transom headers ,and heads are aluminum with 2.25 int/1.89 exhaust. It pulled 520 HP on the dyno before I upped the compression with this set up a year ago.

Just curious where the 520HP was made and was it with the 750 ?

    my .02 but I'd go to a Victor Jr intake and at least a 850 but would rather a 950. I saw noticeable gains when I went from a 750 to a 950 on my 10.5 to 1 468.

Yes the 750 was on the motor when it pulled a 520 at 4800rpm but it broke a valve on the second trip out and destroyed a piston. That's why I bored it 30 over and upped the compression. But I never went back to the dyno to see what it pulls now. Just wondering if I would gain with a better intake and carb set up.
